Songs

A small chorus of songs, expressions of place in Earth. There will be further postings on facebook where you are welcome to add your own songs from the land. Wendy is researching Earthsongs, she is finding, so far, there are songs of the beings in Earth Community, animals, blossoms, insects, trees, rivers, oceans, stars, mountains, humans and so on. There is a romance of songs through call and response within and between species. Songs are replicated by human longing ie to 'afauld' as we say in Scotland or to mimic with instruments such as voice, pipes, flutes and drums originally made from Earth materials. Some are not possible to replicate, are 'Otherworldly/Angelic'. Some of the voices across the species are heard 'within' the human body, through dreams; some are heard 'outside' the human body. Some songs are calling songs, leading us into the deeper mysteries of our life like the young woman of the Earthsong video story. For Aboriginal people there is 'Songline', a song brought in from conception which is vital to be sung to a particular walk of land for that specific land to be re-weaved into being. Bill Plotkin defines Soul in terms of a being's (including human) unique niche in the Earth Community; the truth of the image or song we come in to the world with, a unique song that only we each can sing. The world is significantly less for us not singing it, is not whole. Wendy is tracking where and when songs are heard and by whom to see if there is a pattern emerging of Earthsinging; of Earthsongs and humans; is Earth always singing, are humans hearing songs more/why/how, what are songs wanting of us in this time of 'The Great Turning'. She is wondering about the human notes in the Cosmic composition and whether the Earth is dying because of the lack of the song of humanity; perhaps as we sing the Earth is also reawakened, perhaps our Stone Age Ancestors knew this. Of course, all nature-based cultures and those in-touch with their Mystic, have always known this. Wendy also wonders if Earth herself is singing through us in specific ways in dreaming the next songs of Earth at this time of unravelling; as a way re-balancing the damage humans are doing to her. Are we being reminded once more and being invited into the song. There are many ways of being with and singing songs that you will know too. This website invites songs in all ways.
