Dawn’s whispers

Pink sunrays on glistening snow

Mountains soft like dogs’ backs

Ravens still on tree tops

Dance of light and dark,

Seeing and not seeing

Known and unknown

Seeds asleep in earth

Covered by frost’s fierceness

Resting in the dark

Furry and other beings

Curled up in dark holes

Warming each other

Be the ravens –

Dive across the pale sky

Above the valley

Be alone or together

Sing your song

Swaying with the wind

As moon and sun turn

Dreams linger

Longing to be dreamed into the world

I am living with my husband and son (our daughter visits us regularly) in a remote valley embedded in ancient land and cultures in north-eastern Iran. My greatest passions are my family, soul friends, poetry, being one with the land and getting enchanted again and again by Earth’s songs and mysteries.
